The new Windows is here, more or less. Windows 10 will be available next week. Many clients have already been offered an automatic, free upgrade, courtesy of a little pop-up in the System Tray.
While we expect that most will take advantage of this offer eventually, we are counseling against adopting this new Windows immediately. Our experience with the technical preview we’ve been using for a few months has been generally very positive.
But even with that, we would not put the version we’re using into production. There are a few annoyances and issues that we hope are gone in next week’s commercial release. And of course, how a new Windows will treat specific programs within our clients’ businesses is always a concern best addressed with patience – and testing. Stay tuned, and check out our article on the Windows 10 release.
