Microsoft officially launches Planner

The Office 365 suite welcomes a new addition to its ranks: Microsoft Planner, a team collaboration software that allows your workforce to collaborate on projects, organize plans, assign tasks, share files, and much more.

Released in June, Planner is a project management application that utilizes the concept of ‘boards’ to better organize work and allows users to see the big picture. Each board is made up of cards that can have their own due dates, attachments, categories, and conversations. The cards can be organized into color-codable columns called ‘buckets’ to help you visually differentiate between them.

The distinct advantage of Planner over its competitors lies in its ability to integrate with other Microsoft products like OneNote and Outlook - something that organizations already invested in Microsoft Office suite will appreciate.

Over the next few weeks, Planner will be available to all eligible Office 365 users worldwide, including Office 365 Enterprise E1-E5, Business Essentials, Premium and Education subscription plans.
