“I need your company logo, can you send it to me?”
Lately, as we help more and more clients with their Websites, social media, and company Web portals, that’s a question we’re asking way more often that we used to.
All too often the answer (or the question back) is “can’t you pull it off our Website and use THAT?”
Well, yes, maybe. If the resolution is high enough. If it’s not part of a larger image where we’ll have to Photoshop it out. If, if, if...
It’s a bit surprising the number of companies that don’t give this a thought… until it’s time to update the Website or new brochure, order company shirts, start that Facebook page, or embed the logo in an email signature, etc, etc.
Too often, it’s a project delay while the art search progresses. Or it’s more money invested in paying to reproduce or extract the needed images.
So where’s your art files? If you know, congrats! You’ve made everyone’s life a little easier. If you don’t know, well, sorry to add something else to the ‘to-do’ list… but gathering those files and having them at the ready will have benefits down the road.
