Security update causing service outages

We want to inform you about a significant global outage that is currently affecting many web sites and cloud-based services. This issue stems from a recent update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, which has caused widespread disruptions for airlines, banks, media outlets, technology companies, telecom firms, and other organizations around the world.

About Coronavirus, What Else?

Based on the deluge of emails received this week, this is probably the 400th message you’ll get about Coronavirus. I KNEW I was on a lot of email lists, but never have I been so reminded of that fact – and I’m guessing you’re the same. So, I’ll try not to rehash here any of those mostly redundant messages about hand-washing, “social distancing” and “the extraordinary, extra, super-duper, cleanliness measures” that everyone’s promising.

It’s that time of year again…

…when the weather starts to demonstrate its power, all too often with awful and tragic results.

But it doesn’t take an F5 tornado for the weather to create problems… even the seasonal thunderstorm can create havoc for electronics – and that reminds us of the power and room environment issues we see every spring and through the summer.

It Can’t Last, But…

…as I’m writing this, the spring-like days have us thinking already about air and power conditioning in the coming summer months. It’s really not that far off as we approach February. (How’s that for optimism? Of course, by the time you read this we could have a blizzard, too).

Anyway, the nice weather reminds us that it’s not too early to be looking at all your computers’ power protection.
